| The Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund presented... The Fifth Annual Alumni Hockey Tournament |
||||
On Saturday, April 25, 2009, TSC Alumni took to the ice at Lakeshore Lions Arena in support of the Bursary Fund. It was a beautiful day filled with alumni, current campers, and future campers who came out to watch and cheer on their favourite players. With 4 teams playing, it was the "Chiefs" who battled it out to an overtime shootout win over a mixture of the Montreal and Toronto Alumni team. New face Owen Burry helped the Chiefs with a shoot out goal and Andy Wells scored the winning goal. A special 'how how' goes to Ben O'Hara who was injured in his first game, but rallied on to coach his team for the remainder of the day, only to learn that he had a broken fibula! Also on the ice for the first time this year was Ahmek's new director, Jay Kennedy - thanks for coming out Jay!
The fun continued well into the night at The Sports Cafe where lots more alumni came out to see old friends. A heart felt thanks to everyone who came out to support the Bursary Fund and helped to raise close to $5,000! T-shirts are still available for anyone who was not able to purchase one or who would like to still show their support and purchase one. Please contact for details. Thanks to all the players for another fun, successful day of hockey for a 5th year in a row! |
