At Toronto General Hospital, due to complications following surgery.
Loved son of the late Helen Cobbledick and Dr. John Brock.
Fondly remembered by brothers John (Dorothy) of Merville, BC, and Douglas (Mary Lou), of Georgetown, Ontario, and many extended family members.
Ted was born and grew up in Oshawa, and had a career in radio advertising sales after graduating from the Radio and Television Arts program at Ryerson.
At Ryerson he served for over 30 years as the don of O'Keefe House, shepherding hundreds of young students through their first years away from home.
He was an active member of the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, and maintained many long standing friendships with Taylor Statten Camps alumni.
Ted was a very thorough amateur genealogist who, over a 40 year time span, compiled a rich data base that documents the ancestry of the Brock and Cobbledick families.
His records provide a treasure trove of information that we value greatly.
He was a summer resident at the 95-year old Brock family cottage on Lake Scugog, and liked nothing better than to lounge in the cool breezes with a book.
A service to honour Ted's memory will be held at the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, 14 Elm Street, on Thursday, September 21st at 2 pm.
If you wish to make a donation in his memory, we suggest The Taylor Statten Camping Bursary Fund, P. O. Box 491, Station "P", Toronto, ON M5S 2T1, or another charity of your choice. |
