About September Camp

Each year after the August campers have left Canoe Lake, the facilities at Camp Ahmek are opened to the Alumnae of Ahmek and Wapomeo, their friends, families of current campers, and families experiencing the Taylor Statten traditions for the first time.

This provides an opportunity for the renewal of old camp friendships, and the making of new ones. The "campers" choose their own level of involvement in camp life, from relaxing by the water's edge to joining their favourite activities, such as canoeing, riding, high ropes, tennis, sailing, windsurfing, swimming or Frisbee golf.

Children are offered a wide range of supervised programs based on summer camp traditions, but with a distinctively September Camp flair. The tremendous Staff are chosen from the summer staff.

The sleeping accommodations scattered throughout the site are the same used by the campers in the summer.

Excellent meals are prepared under the direction of the Camp chef, and special cookout meals, cornroasts and evening snacks around campfires satisfy everyone's tastes and appetites.

Evening activities are a special time, with different events occurring nightly. These include Campfires with music provided by Campers and Staff, Shownight, trips to historical sites around the lake, Casino Night, Council Ring, a Coffee House music evening, and a Final Banquet. These activities, and more, showcase the unique talents of our dedicated Staff, and offer wonderful surprises from the ranks of the Campers.
