September Camp Blog!

For several years and for many reasons, I have been inspired to write something about September Camp. As many of you remember, my Dad wrote a Christmas letter, as did his siblings - it was a TSC institution. Once we resurrected the Echoes I wrote a short piece about September Camp, highlighting events and always thanking Campers and Staff for their contributions. I bowed to Swebbs' great writing style and ability to capture the unique flavour of TSC Alumnae life. In the last few years I feel September Camp has taken a back seat - in fact a nonexistent role in any communication to our alumnae.

I wrote a lengthy piece about this year's edition of September Camp - it was spectacular in so many ways - to be accompanied by some wonderful pics by, now professional, photographer Barb Swanson. Then I thought: why should I be exclusively writing about something about which so many feel strongly. A section committed to our memories of September Camp could be great thing. When I passed the idea by someone they thought it sounded like a Blog (I had to ask my kids what that meant - Web Log). I think that's exactly what it could be - The September Camp Blog.

I invite everyone to contribute with thoughts, comments, commendations, memories from this year or yesteryear and of course photos. It's meant to be casual, fun and even spontaneous. I'll join the Blog myself shortly. Oh yes, I did include Barb Swanson's photographs - thanks Barb.

...and thanks in advance to all of you who take up the challenge and contribute to this space.

Now, your webmaster, who is terminally lazy, but always willing to try something new, decided not to create a whole bunch of new pages which he would then have to maintain and moderate. Assuming we could entice you into submitting some content. Impressed by some of the blogs out there, he decided it was time to set up The September Camp Blog on Blogspot.

Please visit and submit your stories and pictures. Let's see what we can create.

There is a third route as well: you can send your story and pictures to the , who will endeavour to post them on your behalf. We look forward to hearing from you.
